CRB Check - FAQs (Cont.) Why are BS Social Care and BS Home Care so rigorous with their checking? The CRB check was brought in to protect children, vulnerable adults and the community as a whole. It is the duty of care providers such as BS Social Care and BS Home Care to ensure that all the correct and appropriate checks are made before providing staff to companies. At BS Social Care and BS Home Care, compliance and safe service is at the heart of our business, and we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our staff, candidates, clients and service users. How long will a CRB take to complete? The current turnaround process is between 4-6 weeks, but check www.crb.gov.uk for further information. What if I'm an ex-offender? Under the discrimination law, it is an offence for companies and people to discriminate against individuals in certain circumstances. Each applicants will be considered upon their own merit and skills and the offence that they were registered for. However, there are certain convictions, in-line with our policies and legislation, that would exclude people from working in a care setting. Please contact your local branch to discuss. If you have any further questions about CRB checks, please contact your local branch. |
