A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Advice and support officer in the Croydon area. The main purpose of the post is to ensure that service users are informed and signed up to the correct tenancy agreement, inducted into their accommodation and steps taken to help them refrain from rent arrears.

The ideal candidate will be supporting young and vulnerable people, inspiring and guiding them to improve their life skills, self-management, self-confidence and wellbeing. As an advice and support officer you will be required to participate in the selection, interviewing and assessment of service users and to gather information about them in accordance to my client`s procedures.

The ideal person will have the following experience, skills and attributes:
-Knowledge and understanding of Housing Law, specifically Supported Housing legislation, including rents and tenancy agreements
-Experience of working in a Supported Housing setting and associated Health and Safety practices.
-Knowledge of Child protection and the Children`s Act 1989 and Adult safeguarding responsibilities in line with the Local Authority
-Qualified to level 3 in Health and Social Care/ Children`s and Young People/ Youth work or Information Advice and Guidance or equivalent.
-Ability to work as a team member and on own initiative when needed
-Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels
-Experience of appropriate support and advice to young people and work effectively with service users to achieve their goals

The successful candidate would be working between Sutton, Croydon or Greenwich.

In return the Successful candidate would be rewarded with the following:
-£19,563 - £20,205
