Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Home Manager of a highly respected provider of residential and educational support for children and young people with learning disabilities, autism and complex care needs on the Dudley/Birmingham border.

My client is is an independent social care provider with an excellent reputation for providing high quality care and tailored support to young people.


This role is to assist the Registered Home Manager to lead a team of staff members in meeting the needs of the vulnerable young people. The role will at times require the post holder to cover shifts during the working week. The young people within your care require high levels of supervision and support to encourage independent living, support with education, training or employment, emotional support and guidance.

This position is best suited to an individual who is passionate about improving the lives and potential outcomes for vulnerable young people.

You will hold a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in health and social care (children and young people`s services). You will be experienced in supervising and supporting members of staff, managing budgets and have a good sound knowledge of The Children`s Act 1989 and OFSTED guidelines. Due to the location of this service, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

This exciting opportunity offers a salary in the region of £21000 to £23500 depending upon experience. You will also receive a generous annual leave allowance, on going training and development and other benefits.
