** Careers Education and Guidance Officer **
** Northampton, Northamptonshire **
** Permanent and full time **
** £30,000 pro rated (36-37 weeks) **
** Monday - Friday with some evenings and weekends when holding events **
** 8.30am - 5pm or 9am - 5.30pm **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a Careers Education and Guidance Officer that use the Gatsby Benchmarks based in the Northampton area of Northamptonshire on a permanent and full time basis paying £30,000. You will work Monday - Friday with some evenings and weekends when holding events, however on a normal week, you will work 8.30am - 5pm or 9am - 5.30pm.

This role requires a recognised qualification in careers guidance at level 6 or equivalent and use the Gatsby Benchmarks.

About the employer; this employer is for a large educational setting within the Northampton area who works with a number of thousand candidates aged 16 yrs - 20 yrs.

About the job; you will provide the provision of impartial careers related education and guidance to individuals and groups of students. You will be in the know of the development of careers resources appropriate to the needs of the students and will oversee the promotion of careers services to staff, students and parents/guardians. You will be as aware as possible around what`s going on locally job wise so this can be used and assist the students and so having connections in different industries to help them go into their next careers would be useful. You will be arranging opening days for roles and education, helping with UCAS for university applications, be a point of contact for all of the students within the setting and more.

About the ideal candidate; this role is a very important role that will be taken by someone who is highly focused on their work and very organised. Ideally you will hold a recognised qualification in careers guidance at level 6 or equivalent, commitment to and evidence of CPD and a minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent).

You will be a confident user of IT systems with a working knowledge of a number of programmes, experience of providing careers education and guidance in individual or small group settings, ability to adapt activities to meet changing priorities or short timescales, ability to present complex information in a variety of formats for different audiences, strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of people at different levels, proven ability to generate buy in from others to achieve goals, ability to build positive, professional relationships with young people, well developed team working skills, organised with good attention to detail, able to work on own initiative as well as under direction, knowledge around safeguarding, ability to display awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young vulnerable adults and working knowledge of policies on child protection, health and safety, confidentiality, student behaviour / discipline and equal opportunities.

Salary range and benefits; for this full time and permanent role you will be offered a salary of £30,000 working Monday - Friday with some evenings and weekends when holding events 8.30am - 5pm or 9am - 5.30pm. You will also be offered a local government pension scheme at 18%, 30 days annual leave, discounted catering, free parking, a medical scheme and more.
