Job Description

** Children and Young People Practitioner **
** Northampton, Northamptonshire **
** Permanent and part time **
** £20,519 - £20,929 **
* Working with women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse *
** 25 hours per week worked over 5 days **
** 9.30am - 2.30pm **
** Some out of hours/evening/early morning/weekend work may be required **

BS Social Care are currently working with a charity who supports victims and their children during and after domestic violence. The charity is based in the Northampton area and they are looking for someone to be the main creche lead, supporting the CYPP Coordinator to deliver creche sessions to children and young people who have been victims of or witnessed Domestic Abuse.

About the employer; this employer is a Christian Charity based in Northampton that offer free services to women and their children to support them through domestic violence and lead the lives they want to live. Alongside working with men who use coercive and controlling behaviours, enabling them to change their values, beliefs and attitudes to prevent further domestic abuse from happening. They offer a refuge to women and children to ensure they are in a safe, supporting environment to those who need it most.

About the job; you will work alongside the CYPP Coordinator to deliver a programme of activities and interventions that support achievement through the Refresh Programme and its' 5 outcomes: Physical Survival, Safety and Security, Social Needs and Belonging, Self Worth and Esteem and Meaning and Purpose. You will also be responsible for the assessments of children and young people's needs and delivering of the day to day running of services and programmes for women and children seeking to move on from the impact of domestic abuse.

About the candidate; it is essential that you hold a suitable child/youth related qualification e.g. NNEB, NVQ Early Years Child Care Level 3, Teaching qualification, Childhood and Youth degree alongside a Paediatric First Aid qualification and you have the ability to make professional, client-centred decisions using appropriate policies, procedures to guide those decisions. It is desirable that you have a driving licence and have a car that is available during working hours and must be suitable for carrying families in connection with your work.
