Job Description

** Children and Young Persons Residential Deputy Manager **
** Corby, Northamptonshire **
** Permanent and full time **
** £31,637 **
** 37 hours on average over 4 weeks **
** E; 8am - 2.30pm/ L; 2pm - 10pm/ S; 10am - 8am including 2 sleep ins per week**
** Children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a Deputy Manager for a children and young person`s residential home within Corby, Northamptonshire. This is an organisation who is there to make a change around the common failures of children`s services which only effects the child(ren) within care.

About the company; this is a new company who own two homes and is currently in the process of a third home with the plan for more successful homes and potentially a school. This company holds 2 Directors and an Operations Manager with masses of children and other experiences which is the driving aspect as to why this company is going to do so well. Our overall mission is to provide a home where we support and encourage young person to become healthier, happier, individuals, who feel more confident and stable going into the next chapter of their lives.

About the role; To meet the needs of and promote the development of the children. Establish and monitor high quality standards of care in line with the Children`s Homes regulations. Work in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. Have experience and knowledge of the OFSTED inspection framework. Develop, alongside the Registered Manager, a confident, competent and consistent staff team. Be involved in the recruitment and retention of staff. To provide supervision for junior members of your team. To promote the efficient and effective operation of the home. To continue with your own personal development and encourage others to do the same. To assume key worker responsibilities for one of our young people which includes befriending and supervising them and acting as their advocate when necessary.

About the ideal candidate; we are looking for a Deputy Manager who has experience working with children and young people who present with behaviours that challenge. We also want you to be able to demonstrate your experience of working in a team and helping them develop and have a desire to challenge yourself and lead by example. At least 2 year`s relevant professional experience working with young people. At least 1 years` experience of managing an effective team within a residential care home. Evidence of experience with day to day finance systems within a residential care home. A level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care - Children and Young People`s Workforce (or equivalent) which is essential, and we cannot consider candidates without that qualification or working towards as this is now an Ofsted requirement. Willingness to study for Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Child Care. Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour in a residential setting. Full clean manual driving license held for at least 1 year.

In return; this role is a full time and permanent role working on average 37 hours per week over 4 weeks. You will work a mix of earlys; 8am - 2.30pm, lates; 2pm - 10pm and sleep ins; 10pm - 8am (you will work 2 sleep ins per week as your contact) which will lead onto a very healthy salary of £31,637. The rota will be as accommodating as possible. You will also be offered a whole host of benefits which will be discussed on application.
