BS Social Care are working with a small care company who provide care to children and young people who are care leavers from fostering placements, residential homes and secure units. They have 3 settings; Rushden, Corby and Derby. There will be times you will be required to go between the settings but this will be minimal. This is a full time and permanent role paying £18,000.

About the employer; this organisation is a small company with big plans to grow. They support care leavers from 16 years old that have come from fostering placements, residential homes and secure units. They ensure that every child and young person they care for is prepared for adulthood.

About the job; you will be employed as a permanent Support Worker to work closely with the children and young people in the company to give them everything they need to start them in their life as an adult from basic skills of cooking, cleaning, benefits and finances, education, careers and more. You will also be an emotional support as at the age of the children and young people, they will be on a roller-coaster with their thoughts, feelings and aims in life. You will work hard to support these people and enable them to have everything they need to allow them for a great life as they deserve.

Part of the job description also states...
- Keyworking with the young people to meet their specific needs
- Sourcing educational, employment and training opportunities for young people
- Supporting the young people to prepare for and/maintain their tenancies
- Supporting the young people in completing workshops including budgeting, cleaning,
cooking and bill paying which will lead to independent living
- Supporting the young people in accessing the relevant support from agencies
- Promoting positive and healthy relationships
- Engaging the young people in social activities
- Maintaining and completing paperwork in a timely manner
- Acting as a positive role model

About the ideal candidate; it is essential that you either hold a Level 3 in a care related qualification or are working towards, that you hold at least 1 years experience within the last year working with a younger age range within either a supported living setting, a residential setting or for care leavers within the social services and that you are a driver. Without this, we are unable to consider you for interview.

For this full and permanent role, a salary of £18,000 will be offered as a starting salary. Once your probation period is completed, your salary will be increased and this will be discussed at the time. You will also be sponsored to complete a Level 5 in management. Working hours for this role will be across the 7 days of the week and will generally cover 9am - 5pm. However, you will be required to be on call which can take you throughout the night.

To apply for this role or to discuss the information further, please call Zoe Gunn on 01604 448408 or email .

Many thanks.
