Job Description

BS Social care Croydon are currently seeking people with experience supporting children and young people aged 8-18 years within a children residential home located in Woking.

Our clients provide support to young people who are transitioning from care, into supported living settings. The young people our clients support have a range of needs from mental health, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioural difficulties, substance dependencies and self harmful behaviours.

We are wanting to find candidates who are passionate about supporting young people reach their potential. We want to hear from people who have worked with hard to reach young people, and managed to build meaningful, positive relationships that encouraged and promoted independence.

As a recruiter of vulnerable people, we are interested in speaking with candidates who understand their responsibilities of providing a safe and supportive environment that seeks to promote independence where possible. You will be an experienced support worker, who understands person centred support and is able to adapt to the needs of your client. You will be able to read, understand and follow care/support plans. You will be experienced in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours. You will have an understanding of assessing risks and safeguarding adults from harm.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 6 months experience supporting vulnerable young people with learning disabilities
  • Understanding of learning disabilities and Challenging behaviour
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent

- Challenging behaviour training
- Behaviour management training
- Qualifications specific to learning disabilities

£10.00 - £12.00 PH
