Job Description

A well established Education and Residential Children Services are recruiting for Senior Support Workers / Shift Leader for their for their 2 residential Children's home. One of the homes is a 6 bed home in Pilning, Bristol and the other home is a 4 bed home in Stoke Gifford, South Gloucestershire (you will have to be flexible to work at either homes sometimes). You will be supporting children & young people between the ages of 8 - 19 year olds who have either come from abuse, neglected backgrounds or they have ASD (Autism) and Aspergers who have associated co-morbidities such as self harm, EBD, ADHD who will display challenging behaviour (more verbal).

Main Job Role:
- Staff supervision / shift leading
- Practical, therapeutic and emotional support of children
- Implementing PRICE model of positive behaviour support
- Overseeing house in manager`s absence
- Reporting and recording in line with Ofsted compliance
- LAC reviews / liaising with external professionals / MDT meetings
- In charge of rosters and covering shifts
- Update risk assessments, health & safety checks, care and support plans

Qualifying candidates:
- Experience working with children with autism and/or challenging behaviours, preferably in residential care
- Must be 21 years old or over
- Must be a car driver with your own car
- MUST have Diploma / NVQ / QCF level 3 in:
* Children & Young People's Workforce
* Health & Social Care in Children
* Health & Social Care in Social Care Pathway
* Caring for children & young people
* Residential childcare
WE DO NOT accept Health and social care in Adults.

Contract / Terms:
- Salary is £19,968 - £21,216 per annum = £9.60 - £10.20 per hour
- Full time 40 hours a week between Mondays to Friday plus alternative weekends
- Shifts will be a mixture of earlies (6:30am - 2:30/3:30pm), lates (2:30/3:30pm - 10:30pm) and occasional sleep-ins if and when required
- Shared on call duties
