Children's Support Worker
Chard

We are looking to employ Children's Residential Support Workers to work in a 5 bed children's home in Chard, working with children and young people up to the age of 18 who have complex needs and emotional and behavioural difficulties.

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will be based within the home to support the children and young people, providing stability, guidance and structure in a therapeutic environment. Working closely with children and young people who live there by being nurturing, listening and encouraging; ensuring they have choice and control over the planning and delivery of their support whilst supporting them to access education. It is essential that you are a patient, kind, resilient individual who is passionate about empowering young people to achieve their full potential.

You will be required to work in the evenings, night-time, weekends and on public holidays. At times, you will be expected to work additional hours to meet business needs.

The shift pattern is 10 shifts per month including 9 sleep ins. This works out at 163.5 hrs per month done over 9, 24.5 hour shifts plus 1, 15 hour shift.

To apply for this role:

Ideally you would have a Level 3 diploma in CYP, however this is not essential.
Ideally you will have experience working within a similar setting with young people.
You must be over 21 years of age.
You must hold a full UK driving licence.
