Job Description

Support Worker

Up to £10.50 PH

Are you currently working in care or recently left and looking for a new role? Then look no further!

Here at BS Social Care, we are looking for experienced, eager people with care experience to join us and help support the needs of individuals with providing care and support.

You will be supporting 10 adults with a variety of complex needs such as learning disabilities, complex needs and challenging behaviour. Your duties will include supporting the service users with their laundry, preparing their lunches, supporting the service users with community access, be it activities or doctors, optician appointments etc. You will also be responsible for following the daily shift planner in order to ensure the residents are having a fun filled day and are able to attend all appointments and activities.

The residents are 1-1 within the home and 2-1 when out in the community. This role requires a form of restraint training as there could be challenging physical behaviour displayed.

12-hour shifts are available Monday - Sunday which you can pick to fit around you such as another job, education or family commitment as we work based on your availability and your interests.

Successful candidates will have great communication, organisational and interpersonal skills as well as initiative to help the amazing teams of staff.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Ability to monitor and ensure the safety and security of the residents.
  • An understanding of challenging behaviour is preferred.
  • Must have an approachable, proactive and friendly attitude towards work.
  • At least 6 months experience working in Care
  • A DBS registered on the Update Service would be a great advantage.
