Job Description

** Young Adult`s Residential Support Worker **
** Meldreth Nr.Royston, Hertfordshire **
** Young Adult`s with severe and profound learning difficulties **
** £17,055 - £19,042 / £8.41 - £9.39 **
** Discount schemes, company pension, paid annual leave, life assurance, child care vouchers, free eye tests, occupational sick pay, training and development, refer a friend scheme worth £200 **
** 8am - 9pm with an average of 39 hours per week on a 4 week rota pattern of 14 shifts with occasional night shifts **

BS Social Care is looking for a number of Support Workers to work within a young adult`s residential care home with severe and profound learning difficulties within the Royston, Hertfordshire area.

About the employer; this employer is a privately ran organisation that offers supported living for young adults with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex health needs and other difficulties. They help to build key skills for their future after moving form education into adulthood. They are situated in Meldreth Nr.Royston in the Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire boarder and currently undergoing a large refurbishment which will include upgraded learning and recreational areas, a new hydrotherapy pool and landscaped gardens and with multi-use activity areas.

About the job; you will be working with young adults with sensory and physical disabilities providing a high level of care and support throughout day activities, recreational activities and learning. Providing personal care including; washing/dressing/manual handling/support with eating and drinking/continence care and filling out care plans.

About the ideal candidate; ideally you will hold a Health and Social Care Level 3 Diploma qualification and basic First Aid knowledge however you will be considered and trained on this qualification if you do not already have it. Ideally you will have work or personal experience with friends or family members with learning difficulties or experience within a support or care type role. You will need to have great communication and interpersonal skills, high resilience and patience, be a robust, positive and creative person and a team player.

In return, this organisation will offer a permanent full time contract paying £17,055 - £19,042 depending on experience and qualifications. They will offer you 4 week Induction programme. You will also receive additional training as you progress through your role. You will complete The Care Certificate if you do not already have one from previous employment or have a certificate of completion. They will also offer discount schemes, company pension, paid annual leave, life assurance, child care vouchers, free eye tests, occupational sick pay, training and development, refer a friend scheme worth £200.

This role will require you to work 8am - 9pm with an average of 39 hours per week on a 4 week rota pattern of 14 shifts per month. You may also be required to work the occasional night shift.
