Job Description

I am currently working with a large national provider to support them in the recruitment of a deputy manager for a BIRMINGHAM based residential setting for adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and behaviours which may prove challenging.

This can be an extremely challenging service; however, it is equally rewarding as you are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to have fulfilled lives, achieve goals and gain further independence.

Your key duties will consist of the following but not be limited too;

o Delivering a person centre approach and to ensure the high standards that are already set continue
o Support the Service Manager to ensure that staff are trained to meet the needs of the people we support, and their training complies with CQC.
o To participate in the day-to-day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
o To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and other whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.
o To support service users with the preparation of meals, laundry duties, cleaning and social events.
o Provide supernumerary and practical support, including sharing the on-call responsibilities and deputising for the manager in their absence
o Ensuring the service remains fully compliant and performs consistently in line with CQC and company standards

To be successful within this role you should have the following;
o Have experience in a senior or team leader capacity for residential care for adults with learning disabilities
o NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.
o Excellent communication skills and the passion to work with adults with learning disabilities
o Flexibility to share the on-call rota and work an occasional weekend
