Job Description

I am seeking an inspirational and driven deputy manager to join a care focused service that specialises in person centred care and support for children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in the Birmingham region.

Your new service offers special needs children and young people from 5-17 years of age a safe and nurturing home where they can work towards reaching their full potential.


This exciting opportunity will require you to play a key role in:
" Mobilising the service alongside the registered manager
" Staff and service management, including safeguarding, report writing and monitoring quality and compliance
" Staff recruitment, mentoring and training
" Person centred care and support planning
" Liaising with external agencies and local authority representatives, attending meetings as required
" Deputising for the registered manager in their absence
" Promoting independent living skills, through education and activity planning
" Shared on call


To be considered for this role, you must:
" Hold the Level 3 in health and social care (Children and Young People's Services; or equivalent); or working towards the same with the right amount of experience
" Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.

You will also have the following experience:

" Delivery of care and support within a children's residential care setting or in a setting supporting young adults with a learning disabilities diagnosis
" Shift and team leading
" As a senior or team leader in a similar setting
" Working with children, young people, and their families in a residential setting
