Role overview
To be the Deputy Manager in the day to day running of our Supported living service supporting 2 young Adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism, to lead the team delivering a person-centred service through Active Support with a commitment to Life Long Learning and independence for all.
You will play a vital role assisting the manager with the daily running of the service and work effectively to support the service.
You will support and provide information and advice in an appropriate way to the residents, their families and support workers, to enable active decision making and effective management of risk. Aspects of your role will include assisting with the recruitment & training of new staff and taking part in the rota system, to ensure enough cover.
About you
You must have proven experience of working within a leadership role supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism, using a person centre approach, including Person Centred Planning, Care and Support Planning and risk assessments. You will need to hold a minimum of QCF Level 3 (NVQ Level 3) in Health & Social Care or equivalent, with willingness to work towards level 5. Experience of delivering support using the Positive Behaviour Support framework and the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is essential, along with knowledge of current legislation, including the Care Act (2014) and Health and Safety at Work. Knowledge and understanding of the principles of Valuing People and Valuing People Now is also essential. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills, as well as good basic IT skills. A full clean UK driving license is essential.
