Deputy Children's Residential Manager
Bala - Gwynedd
From £28,700

We are currently looking for a Deputy Children's Residential Manager to work on a full time basis with one of the leading organisations for providing services for children that have emotional and behavioural difficulties in Bala, Gwynedd.


Your responsibilities within this role will be to ensure that a homely environment is always maintained and is sensitive to the needs of the children and young people within the home.


Deputise for Manager working office hours Monday to Friday whilst they are on annual leave. However, as you will also be working as part of a team whilst you are not deputising in absence you will be working on a rota completing shifts that includes sleep in's to suit the needs of the home to make sure that normal development of the children.


You will assist in the running of the home to meet the needs of the residents and ensure that the young person being cared for has as much responsibility for their own lives as possible and as appropriate.


You will ensure that any child or young person in crisis or stress is offered all appropriate support is provided, and to be part of the on call management team. In the absence of the Manager you will have responsibility in the development and management of staff on a day to day basis.


You will help to create and develop links between the home, community and young people and use the residential community as a means of support and social learning for young people and provide leadership and guidance to assist in the development of staff.


If you are successful in this role you will be attending a range of activities with the young people such as; camping, treasure hunts, go-karting, kayaking, white water rafting.

The candidate that we are looking for;

  • Flexible to work a range of shift patterns, such as days, nights and weekends
  • Hold a full UK driving license with access to a vehicle
  • Experience of working within a similar setting within Social Care
  • Hold a Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent
