Job Description

*Domestic Violence Case Worker*
*Cardiff - 1-year fixed term contract*
*£10.00-£10.50*


Here at BS Social Care we are working in partnership with a fantastic womens refuge organisation who are recruiting for an independent advisor.


The charity is a women`s equality organisation which exists to eradicate violence against women and girls and to support survivors. They recognise that ending violence and abuse takes a whole society approach to social change, and it needs you to help them achieve this!


This is a full-time role working 35 hours a week. The hours will be worked over three days. Wednesday day shift, Thursday and Friday night shifts all 12 hours. Flexibility is required at times for meetings and training. The service is staffed 24 hours a day with lone working in the night.

Successful candidates will have great communication, empathy and interpersonal skills as well as initiate to help the vulnerable women that are supported at the service. A passion for helping others is essential for this role.


What we will need from you;

  • You will have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
  • You will have a good understanding of domestic violence/abuse including the impact of domestic violence/abuse on victims and their children.
  • You will understand child protection issues, how to respond to effectively safeguard, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
  • An ability to lone work
  • A good understanding of health and safety
  • A DBS on the update service will be an advantage
