Job Description

Your role as a family assessment support worker will be to provide a an individual support plan working with vulnerable mother`s and their new born babies.You will work on a 1 to 1 basis to maintain and create a healthy and proactive lifestyle and to strengthen their interaction skills. We will work independently throughout the mothers and babies journey leading them ito a more stable and structured lifestyle.

All observations are closely monitored and fully recorded and can take place in the evenings and at weekends. Through-tout the day you will support the family in the community which will include helping with the finance and budgeting, life skills and how to cope in stressful situations.

You will work alongside experienced and peer support and the opportunity to work as part of a team, you will receive supervision and excellent training organised by our experienced assessment team to develop and build upon your existing skills.

The service is a residential family assessment centre located on the outskirts of Taunton, Somerset. It is a passionate centre, providing a tailored service that meets the needs of each individual family and the approach is always centred around the child. The skilled team have extensive experience of Safeguarding, Risk Assessment and Child Development.

*Helping parents to enhance their parenting skills by encouraging, teaching, modelling and supporting parents in a number of specific parenting tasks as recommended by the Assessment team.
*Observing families via CCTV and extracting CCTV footage.
*Assessing the level and type of support that is required by a parent or child at any time and ensuring that the appropriate level of monitoring is provided for each family, in line with their placement plan.
*Providing feedback to parents and recording this.
*Working collaboratively with the wider assessment team, seeking further information, advice or support when necessary.
*The ideal candidate must demonstrate commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
