Job Description

Brook Street Social Care in Croydon, specialise in providing a range of work opportunities for both full time, and part time professionals that support or provide care to vulnerable people.

We are currently recruiting for an Ofsted registered family assessment service, in the heart of Redhill Surrey. The aim of the service is to strengthen and keep families together. The service accepts referrals for families who may have needs around domestic violence, child development, mental health, learning disability or more, where parental capacities have raised concerns.

The assessment service provides 24/7 assessments, producing reports that are fed to family court proceedings, who then determine the next steps for that family. The service offers local authorities an opportunity to ensure families are given every opportunity to remain together.
This role is based within an Ofsted regulated setting, and as such, successful candidates will need to have at least 6 months experience, working in an Ofsted regulated environment.


Day to day duties of this role will involve:
- Carrying out 24/7 observations and assessing the parental capacity of families who have been referred to the service
- Producing non-biased, factual reports based on assessments, that are compiled, and presented at family court proceedings
- Offering support where appropriate, to ensure the safeguarding of children at all times
- The role will require you to assess and observe, both within a regulated premise, as well as working with families in the community
- Writing up reports on care record system
- ensuring the protection and well-being of children at all times
- maintaining a high level of monitoring and supervision


You will encourage our clients to think differently about ways that they may want to be supported or make changes in their life. This may include self-care, technology, aids and adaptations, support from family, friends, being part of what is happening in the community, services and paid support.
About you:
" 6 months experience working with children within a regulated setting
" NVQ Level 3 in Social Care will be an advantage, however this is not an essential requirement
" Strong interpersonal skills, working with a range of different people, who have different backgrounds/needs
" Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
" Ability to generate trust and credibility when working as part of a team and be reliable.
" Problem-solving abilities and the ability to remain calm within stressful situations.
" Microsoft Knowledge


Shift patterns: Flexible shift patterns
Rate of Pay: £11.50 - £12.50
