Job Description

BS Social Care Croydon is currently seeking family assessment practitioners for both temporary and permanent work across the South London areas.

We are working with a number of family support and assessment companies, all of which work with local authorities who have referred families to assessment settings, in order to observe, assess and review any needs and risks that the children or parents may have. These services work closely with children and families social work teams, and are producing assessments that are reviewed by family courts.

You will be experienced working with vulnerable families, preferably within assessment services. You will be able to produce reports and assessments that are used within family court proceedings, and as such, will produce factual, and non biased reports for the examination of the judge. You will understand the complex needs that families are referred with; learning disabilities, post trauma, domestic violence, mental health and more. You will know how to liaise with stakeholders, social workers, and other professionals involved with the service. Due to the nature of the clients being assessed, you will be aware of how to manage challenging and difficult situations in a calm, tactile and non confrontational manner.

We are looking for candidates who understand boundaries, and are able to work in a professional but also, friendly and supportive way. We are hoping to speak with candidates who have good sense of humour, and can think positively, especially in times of difficulty and challenge.

Minimum requirements are:
- Full working and practical knowledge of using computer systems
- Court specific report and assessment writing skills
- Good engagement and interaction skills with vulnerable and challenging clients
- working knowledge of children`s act 1989 & 2004, and children and families act 2014.
- Availability to cover a minimum of 30 hours per week

£9.00 PH - £11.00 PH dependent on experience, skills and qualifications

Once applied, you will be contacted by a consultant who will discuss the role in more detail, and also, find out more about your particular employment needs. This will involve discussing your experience and assessing your suitability for the role. If successful, we then progress to the compliance stage, where we check your necessary documentation needed to work with vulnerable adults/children. Once you have passed our compliance checks, we then begin booking you in for work!

So if you are looking for a new role, or even additional hours to your current position, please get in touch now!
