Job Description

** Family Support Worker**
** 2 years minimum in a family support (Parent and baby provision) environment needed **
** Permanent and full time **
** Earlies, lates, waking nights, sleep ins and weekends **
** £8.72ph - £9ph starting **
** Northants areas; Corby, Rushden, Northampton **

BS Social Care are recruiting for a strong and knowledgeable Family Support Worker who has worked within a parent and baby setting for at least 2 years. Personal experience is not accepted for this role, you have to have worked in a professional capacity with parents and babies.

About the employer; this is a care company who provide care to children and young people who are care leavers from fostering placements, residential homes and secure units. They have 3 settings. There may be times you will be required to go between the settings but this will be minimal.

This company hold big plans to grow. They support care leavers from 16 years old that have come from fostering placements, residential homes and secure units. They ensure that every child and young person they care for is prepared for adulthood.

About the job; we are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual committed to supporting the welfare and safeguarding of children. Our mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable children and their families and as a new staff member you can join us on our ongoing journey.

These are some of the duties that you will undertake;

Understanding the lived experience of the child and assessing their needs to promote effective change and Identifying innovative ways to engage with families.
Safeguarding, caring for and supporting children and parents when the parents might be experiencing difficulties for a variety of reasons.
Case management, including reporting and recording and liaising with other agencies, colleagues and line managers where appropriate
Facilitating and delivering support programmes to targeted families.
Helping parents to enhance their parenting skills by encouraging, teaching, modelling and supporting parents in a number of specific parenting tasks as recommended.
Assessing the level and type of support that is required by a parent or child at any time and ensuring that the appropriate level of monitoring is provided for each family, in line with their placement plan.
To work with EHA processes where required.
Recording: Accurate and objective information with regard to the functioning and behaviour and development both children and parents..
Providing feedback to families.

About the ideal candidate; 2 years minimum in a family support (Parent and baby provision) environment needed, a great communicator, always focused on delivering positive outcomes, able to work to deadlines, ideal to have a qualification in care, great leadership skills, self-starter.

This is a full time and permanent role paying £8.72ph - £9ph. You will be offered benefits such as all mandatory training, all specialist training, qualifications, pay rate reviews, over time and more.
