Job Description

** Family Support Worker **
** Kempston, Bedfordshire **
** Permanent & full time **
** £18,200 / £10 per hour **
** Average of 35 hours per week working 4 days per week on a 3-week rolling rota **
** Working with parents and their babies within a residential setting **

BS Social Care are looking for two Family Support Workers based in the Kempston area of Bedfordshire, to work a permanent and full-time role supporting new parents with their babies within a residential setting to monitor and observe the parents and their care that they give to their child to be able to give professional reports that will be made available to Social Workers.

About the employer; this employer provides support to mothers and/fathers with their babies/ children within a residential setting. They provide accurate parenting assessments and risk management in a therapeutic setting where complex social, emotional and educational needs are met by attachment awareness.

About the job; within this role, you will help and support positive parenting and making changes. You will support the parents within all aspects of parenting and running a home within their 12 weeks stay. You will be supporting with activities such as bathing, breastfeeding, nutrition and other similar activities. You will observe and write detailed reports for all the families that will be used as evidence within their case. Help with the day to day running of the residential home and grounds which includes a modern decorated home that has spacious living rooms, a large stylish kitchen, equipped laundry room, quiet rooms for parents to relax and work in, play rooms for the children and multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. They have a large private garden area for the families enjoy together and get involved with the maintained of. Lastly supporting the parents in court and other appointments when needed.

About the ideal candidate; you will hold an NVQ Level 3 within Childcare or a Level 3 Health & Social Care and must have relevant experience, a driving licence alongside access to your own car including business insurance to be able to accompany parents to appointments. Have experience with new-borns and 5-year olds and/or experience with families. Experience within court is a desirable as well as supporting within all appointments. You will be able to provide a compassionate but authoritative attitude with a passion for the role. You will need to show enthusiasm and be personable while creative and understanding.

For this full time and permanent role, we will offer you a salary of £18,200 alongside; 28 days of annual leave, state pension and progression with the attached qualifications. You will be working 4 days a week on a 3-week rolling rota and 1 in 3 weekends, the shifts are; early 8.15am-3.30pm and late 3.15pm-10.45pm You must be able to be flexible by being able to work across any of the 7 days. You will receive relevant training such as safe guarding and parent assessment and support will be provided from starting to progression in your role.
