Job Description

My client is a market leading innovation company who are looking for a Financial Assistant to provide efficient and effective support to the Finance department for the development and delivery of reporting requirements


Your responsibilities:

Primary functions of this role are:

  • Process and prepare financial and business forms and software for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.
  • Extraction and summarising financial information in preparedness for analysis by Financial Controller.
  • Preparation of ad-hoc information as and when requested by the FC
  • Help oversee and manage individual accounts
  • Reporting discrepancies
  • Assisting with monthly preparation of management accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly rolling 12 month P&L forecasts
  • Accounts Receivable
    o Inputting orders

    o Create, send, and follow up on invoices
    o Booking receipts to Finance systems
  • Perform month end account reconciliations as directed
  • Transactional processing for Finance system
  • Other tasks as and when required in accordance with experience or following appropriate training/mentoring

Who are you:

  • At least 3 years' experience in Finance, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent computer skills - specifically with Microsoft Office
  • Highly motivated and highly organized with the ability to hit tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work standalone and as part of a team depending on the situation
  • Experience with new ERP system implementation would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of Great Plains
  • Experience with FileMaker
  • Full or part qualified in an accounting/Finance qualification
  • Input accurate data into Great Plains (or other similar ERP systems)
  • Ability to extract required information from Great Plains (or other similar ERP systems)
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office at an advanced level
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent organisation skills of paperwork and PC
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

The Financial Assistant must also be able to demonstrate the ability to comply with regulations and take responsibility for his/her own actions. It is vital that they are a team player and show flexibility in all aspects of their work. The role requires good communication skills and confidence in influencing others in a positive manner in order to meet strict deadlines and budgets. The Financial Assistant should be able to manage their own workload independently and also demonstrate willingness to adapt in order to meet changing business needs. They will be a self-motivated, team player with a 'can do' approach who is able to multi-task and be proactive.

Offer Work From Home and 37.5 hours per week
