BS Social Care is working in partnership with a care organisation who is recruiting for a candidate to oversee their finances and become a key appointment by the charity to take responsibility for all financial aspects of the business. For this role, you must be qualified or part qualified accountant to AAT level, preferably with experience in working in the Charity sector alongside hands on experience with accounting software (QuickBooks).

About the job; you will be seen as a key appointment by the charity to take responsibility for all financial aspects of the business, as it enters a period of growth over the short and medium term, the successful applicant will be reporting to the Registered Manager and Board of Trustees. You will be responsible for the full range of financial management including preparing budgets, income & expenditure, balance sheet and cash flow forecasting, based on the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) governing Charity and Company Law. The successful candidate will need to work with and support the Senior Management team on a regular basis.A key requirement will also be to review, redesign and deliver a suite of financial reports from the accounting software for the Trustees.

Additional tasks will include but not be limited to:

Complete operation of the charity financial system (QuickBooks)
Accounting and allocation all income and expenditure to the appropriate accounts
Accounting for all bank account movements and reconciliations
Accounting for all payroll controls with the charity payroll provider
Controlling the charity petty cash and recharges system
Budgetary control on ad hoc projects
Liaising with external auditors and producing draft financial accounts
Liaising with the company`s pension administrator and facilitating payment
Attending Directors/Trustees and management meetings as appropriate

About the ideal candidate; the successful candidate will be a qualified or part qualified Accountant to AAT level, preferably with experience in working in the Charity sector. You will have hands on experience with accounting software (QuickBooks), good knowledge of Excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets and good organisational and time management abilities.

This role is a permanent offering between £30k to £35k depending upon experience. You will work 25-30 hours per week with flexible working hours to suit both parties. Head office is based in a village on the outskirts of Northampton in Northamptonshire but will also involve homeworking.
