Job Description

Role: Support Worker (Holistic Engagement Worker)
Salary: £18,481 - £21,199, sleep ins £78.48 per night
Duration: Permanent
Start date: ASAP
Hours: Full time

I'm proud to be recruiting for an amazing college that prides itself on giving each student the opportunity to lay the foundations for a rewarding and fulfilling life. You'll be working with and alongside extraordinary people who are committed to delivering second to none support. If you want to be part of this team then read on!

The Job
You'll be supporting young people through their education both inside of college and back home. You'll be supporting them with the normal challenges of being a teenager but each student will also have their own unique support needs that will present challenges. So you'll need to be calm, confident and resilient.

If you're supporting the students at college or in their residential homes they will benefit from an extensive range of nutritional, therapeutic and medical support which will be specifically designed for each young person.

You'll be working shifts on a 7 day rota will include sleep ins (if you have regular commitments outside of work the college can accommodate most things). You'll have a salary ranging between £18,481 - £21,199 and sleep ins are paid at £78.48 per night. You'll be entitled to bags of benefits which include,
- Free parking
- Between 33 - 38 days annual leave (including bank holidays). This increase with your length of service.
- Casual Dress Code
- Free meals when working with students,
- Pension Scheme,
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Staff social events (E.g. Christmas, End of Academic Year).
- Amazing internal training programme, that will improve your skills when managing those tricky moments.

About you
You'll have some experience working with young people aged between 16 - 25, this experience can past or recent, ideally having experience dealing with challenging situations.
You'll need to have strong observational skills, be able to problem solve and importantly be resilient.
You'll need to be free full time and able to complete sleep in shifts.
A NVQ 3 in Health and Social Work would be desirable, but not essential.

The key thing for me is, you'll have to really want to do this job, I need you to be able to support the students through their journey at the college and not buckle at the first challenge. You can truly make a huge difference to these people's life's and what they need most is consistency and be able to trust you.

As you'll be working with vulnerable young people so references and a DBS will need be taken out, if you have one on the update service, even better!

What Next
Just apply! This is an amazing job and if I was a Support Worker, this is where I'd work. So, give me a call on 0117 9486300 or email me at
