Job Description

BS Social Care are currently working with a charity provider that offers help, care and support to adults affected by and recovering from Mental health problems and learning disabilities.

Our client is currently recruiting for Housing Support Worker Workers to provide support within their 24-hour supported housing services.

The job role consists of but is not limited to;

To encourage the individual to live as fully and independently as possible within the local community, providing information, emotional, organisational and practical support as possible.

To maintain daily contact with service users to check on their welfare and provide support as set out in their support plan.

To encourage and support service users to take part in day time activities of interest to them including education and voluntary activities.

To carry out risk assessments as necessary due to the changing needs and aspirations of the individual.

Whilst at the service be responsible for the security and proper use of the building, furniture and fittings.

To ensure that all communal areas of the building are kept clean and tidy

Report, order and inspect day to day repairs and estate maintenance.

Ensure that fire and other equipment is regularly serviced, tested and complies with health and safety requirements.

To be familiar with the service control points in case of emergency i.e. water main stop cocks, electricity supply switches and fuses etc.


The ideal candidate will have an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care and have experience within housing. You will also be a proactive, non-judgemental person who is looking to make a difference in another person`s life and wellbeing.

In return you can expect a full-time rota of 37.5 hours per week, with a generous salary of £9.10, pension plan, career development and a generous holiday allowance as well as in house training packages.
