Job Description

Legal Administrator
Monday to Friday 9-5 £12.13 an hour
11 month temporary assignment with a possible extension
Hybrid Working pattern

Maintain a schedule of new Applications to the Court seeking to restore companies to the Register of Companies pursuant to the Companies Act 2006, ensuring that correspondence is responded to and acting as the first port of call for Claimants and their legal representatives.

Preparing correspondence to Claimants and their legal representatives based on instructions from the Registrar of Companies, setting out her requirements that must be met before the Registrar's consent is given.

This can include that a company's statutory filings are brought up to date, that undertakings are given to the Court either limiting the actions of a company for the duration it would remain on the Register or prescribing the actions that a Claimant would take against a company or in regard to a company.

These can vary from a company realising and disposing its specified assets, that it be voluntarily liquidated, that it is intended for the company to pursue litigation against third parties, that a Claimant intends to sue a company seeking damages for alleged negligence or historic personal injury, or a petition to compulsorily liquidate a company.
This includes drafting correspondence to Claimants, their solicitors and agents, the client and the Court and liaising on the telephone and by e-mail with those parties on issues and questions that arise.

Consenting to applications once the Registrar's requirements are met and her costs are paid. Drafting Court Orders and Forms of Undertaking for the use by the Court.

Acting as a general enquiry point for Claimants or potential Claimants who are seeking advice on procedure.
Discussing issues that arise with colleagues and making suggestions as to how our procedures may be improved.
