Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Technician in Leyland, Nr Preston, Lancashire for a special educational needs School

The site provides support for children with a variety of social, emotional and mental health challenges. The learning environment and facilities here allow students to access a varied curriculum in a calm and nurturing environment and the team strives to give every student the confidence and opportunities to achieve their full potential.

The role:
Your role will be to assist in the overall maintenance of the site by ensuring that all the buildings and grounds are kept in good order.

With a strong emphasis on Health & Safety; you'll be expected to ensure that the building and grounds are continually fit for purpose for students and staff to enable them to fulfil their roles

The role will cover a wide variety of maintenance duties such as carrying out general maintenance and repairs to the building, as well as planned maintenance and project work. The successful candidate must also be confident in the use of IT as some of the work involved requires the use of computers.

This will require a high level of attention to detail to maintain the high standards of the main school and associated school buildings.

Experience:
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate the following
Previous maintenance experience (including the ability to undertake basic plumbing and joinery).
A pro-active and reactive approach
Good record keeping and reporting skills
Knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations and the ability to comply with all corporate policies regarding Health and Safety whilst carrying out maintenance functions.
Excellent attendance and reliability.
The ability to work alone and perform a high level of physical work (including the collection and movement of materials, equipment and furniture).
A full driving licence.

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Mon - Fri
Salary: £9 - £9.50 (dependent on experience)
