Job Description

** Support Worker **

** Watford, Hertfordshire **
** NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED **
** 20 or 37.5 hours per week **
** Permanent - part time or full time **
** £9ph **
** Earlies; 7am - 1pm / Lates; 2pm - 9pm **
** Adults with moderate mental health issues, Epilepsy, challenging behaviour aged 50-75yrs **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting a Support Worker for an adult`s residential home within Watford, Hertfordshire looking for candidates that have the values and passion for helping others. Ideally you will be a driver with a manual licence but not essential as train station is 10 minutes away. We are open to interviewing candidates with no experience, but you must have a passion and want for a career in care and to complete training. You must be enthusiastic and be willing to learn.

They are passionate about ensuring they give the best possible care to their residents and provide a happy environment for both the service users and staff.

About the role; your typical day would include; personal care such as washing and dressing and get ready for day centre, shopping or activities. You will complete paper work and keep care plans up to date and help keep the home tidy and clean and completing your delegated jobs including; washing and drying the clothes/hoovering/ loading the dishwasher ect. You will be a Key Worker so expect to be responsible for a particular service user including arranging their activities/medication and have everything then need to receive the best possible care. You will assist in picking them up from day centre and providing personal and helping with dinner and the making of it, then get ready for the evening. This role is very hands on due to the service users needing physical support with personal care and meals to ensure they have the best quality of life possible.

About the ideal candidate; ideally you will be a driver with a manual licence but not essential as train station is 10 minutes away. We are open to interviewing candidates with no experience, but you must have a passion and want for a career in care and to complete training. You must be enthusiastic and be willing to learn. It is also essential that you empathise and are compassionate towards the residents of the home and interested in the role for the right reasons. We need candidates that have the right values and understanding of the needs of the service users you`re working with by building a professional relationship and being a friend as well as their carer. The home is a friendly home, either fast paced or relaxed but always nice to be within. This organisation looks to upskill and progress their team and offer the opportunity to become Shift Leaders after probation if that is of interest.

In return; we can offer either a 20 hours contract or a 37.5 hour contract which will both be permanent contracts paying £9ph. You will work 7am - 1pm or 2pm - 9pm. You will also be offered a whole host of benefits which will be discussed on application. The benefits include; will have a mentor and could possibly become a mentor, length of service salary increase, 6-week induction, care certificate, face to face and E-learning; champion training, equality, hygiene ect, training around LD, MH, Medication and safe guarding, you will be able to gain the QCF.
