Job Description

Brook Street Social Care are currently sourcing for both Nursery practitioners and nursery assistants across a range of childcare settings in South London. We work with both private and charitable organisations by offering them temporary workers to cover short-, mid- and long-term vacancies.

Responsibilities and Duties

This role entails candidates to contribute towards a high-quality caring environment for children within a nursery or children's centre setting. We expect our candidates to be actively involved in creating a friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally, using a range of resources, activities and care planning. Duties will include supporting the nursery manager and working proactively as part of a team. The services we work with are expected to meet the requirements of the EYFS framework, and your input will contribute towards this.

We offer a range of online training courses, as well as offering practical training to candidates who are serious about upskilling themselves. Our nurseries are always keen to support out workers with additional training where available, so a natural desire to upskill and professionally develop your skills would be a huge advantage.
The shift patterns can vary, but typical shifts would be 8am-5pm, 9am-6pm, and 12pm-6pm between Monday and Friday.

Qualifications and Skills

Applicants must have a Level 3 childcare qualification and be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Applicants must have strong leadership skills and enjoy working with children and demonstrate a keen interest in learning and developing.

Nursery Nurses are required to have a minimum NVQ level 3 in Childcare Qualification with at least 6 months experience working in a nursery setting. These roles are paying £11.5 to £12.50 per hour, which is equivalent to £22,800 per annum

We are also open to nursery assistants who are required to have a minimum of 6 months experience working in a nursery or children's centre setting. This role is paying £10 per hour, and is equivalent to £20,800 per annum
