Job Description

Operational Admin Team Leader
Monday to Friday 9-5
1 year temporary assignment with a possible extension
£14.01 an hour

Working directly to the Head of the team, the main purpose of the role is to provide support to the senior management team in the delivery of its core business objectives by providing effective management of the - A team; ensuring effective and efficient administration for case opening and closing; maintaining accurate stats and performance sheets: providing accurate MI to the management team; and effectively deputising for the head of the government department.

Key Tasks

  • To provide a high quality, professional and efficient support service to the legal teams that enables the caseworkers to meet their targets and deadlines and meets the agreed deadlines with the client thereby achieving client satisfaction and contributing to the achievement of the government department
  • To comply with policies, standards, procedures and service level agreements set at the, divisional and team level
  • Provide a daily report on case opening, closing, scanning and court clerk services at the end of each working day, reporting any outstanding cases and matters affecting the case opening process
  • To maintain full and accurate records on relevant Excel spreadsheet (case opening/close/scanning and court clerk stats)
  • Close files by carrying out all related activities
  • To meet agreed chargeable hours targets and SLAs
  • Manage an efficient, effective, flexible and motivated team
  • Make suggestions for, and assist with, performance management initiatives e.g. benchmarking, sharing best practice, continuous improvement
  • Provide ad-hoc administrative assistance across the team, as required by liaising with the head of the team and undertaking tasks as requested, ensuring that any task is completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes
  • Highlight and escalate any identified risks or issues to the head of the team
  • To identify gaps in own knowledge, skills and understanding and to work with reporting officer in planning training, learning and development to fill these gaps
  • Keep up to date with the knowledge of CMS (case management system) and of the impact on any changes to the working of CAT
  • Line management of up to 4 or 5 admin officers
  • Act as the first point of call for all of our Litigation teams
  • Managing the shared team inbox
  • Coordinate with colleagues in CRG to resolve issues impacting service delivery
  • Managing AO recruitment for the team; managing time sheets for temps; Staff bonus
  • Arrange and lead on mini-team meetings and providing training sessions as appropriate
  • Lead on induction of new staff to the team



To Apply -

  • Management experience 6 months plus
  • Legal background is a bonus (not essential)
  • Good Excel Skills
