Job Description

** Children and Young Persons Residential Support Worker **
** Permanent and full time **
** £20,640 - £21,640 **
** 37.5 hours on average over 4 weeks **
** To work every other weekend **
** E; 8am - 2.30pm / L; 2pm - 10pm / S; 10am - 8am (2 sleeps per week) **
** Children and young person's home with emotional and behavioural difficulties **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting Children and Young Persons Residential Support Worker within Corby, Northamptonshire. This is a new company with a strong ethos of being committed to, and passionate about, supporting each young person's right to quality care in order to cultivate bright futures. This is an organisation who is there to make a change around the common failures of children's services which only effects the child(ren) within care.

About the company; this is a brand-new company who own two homes and is currently in the process of a third home and potentially a school. This company holds 2 Directors and an Operations Manager with masses of children and other experiences which is the driving aspect as to why this company is going to do so well. We are committed to supporting each young person's right to quality care in order to cultivate bright futures. Our overall mission is to provide a home where we support and encourage young person to become healthier, happier, individuals, who feel more confident and stable going into the next chapter of their lives. About the role; your role is to not accept no as answer. Your role is to problem solve and to be 2 steps ahead at all times, thinking of tactical ways of dealing with issues within the home. You will be responsible in ensuring that the children in your care are given a solution rather than a problem allowing the children to be children and to be able to live as much of a fulfilled life as possible in the circumstance they are in. To understand and meet the needs of and promote the development of the children by providing 1:1 care and support. To work in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. To assume key worker responsibilities for one of our young people which includes befriending and supervising them and acting as their advocate when necessary. To promote and participate in activities encouraging choice and opportunity for our young people. Alongside the Home Manager, to provide guidance, mentoring and support for our support workers. To undertake training and utilise learning within the home.

About the ideal candidate; due to Ofsted regulations, the qualifications needed for children and young people are becoming more essential. Ideally, you will have the NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People. We will be looking for people with NVQ's/QCF's and Diploma's/Degree's relevant to this role and the health and social care sector. It is essential that you have current and up to date experience with children and young people ideally within a residential and therapeutic setting. You will be a driver. Team Teach and MAPA would be ideal and you will be IT lit for the record keeping aspect of the role.

In return; this role is a full time and permanent role working on average 37.5 hours per week over 4 weeks. You will work a mix of earlys; 8am - 2.30pm, lates; 2pm - 10pm and sleep ins; 10pm - 8am (you will work 2 sleep ins per week as your contact). The rota will be as accommodating as possible.
