Job Description

40 hours a week

Days and waking nights on a static 12 hour shift pattern

£9.50 an hour rising to £10.50 an hour after the 6 months probation had been passed

We are looking for individuals who have an interest in supporting children and young people with challenging and emotional needs. You will be enthusiastic, driven and determined to enrich the lives of the young people you will be working with and will be passionate about making a positive impact on the children and young people you are supporting.
Daily duties include but not limited you

  • Communicating with staff any needs, concerns or changes during your shift
  • Supporting the young people to plan their day ahead, ensuring they have a freedom of choice
  • Listening to the young people and children you are supporting, ensuring they get a say in decisions that are made about them and sharing information in a way they will understand
  • Supporting the children and young people to achieve their goals
  • Supporting the children and young people to have a relationship with their families
  • Ensuring the children and young people attend education, training or employment
  • Encourage and support their hobbies, interests and encouraging a healthy social life
  • Support and encourage the individuals you are supporting to attend health appointments
  • Ensuring the children and young people develop a sense of worth
  • Document all relevant paperwork
  • General housekeeping duties

In order to be considered for this role

  • You will have a flexible approach to working hours, 365 days a year, 12 hour static shift pattern of days and waking nights (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)
  • You will have a full drivers license (manual)
  • A clear DBS
  • Preferably a background of working with children, young adults or in a similarly challenging role
  • You will be 21 or over
