Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Residential Children`s worker to join a well-established and respected organisation in a full-time permanent post.

You will be working in a 4 bedded service in Heaton Mersey, Stockport for an organisation that has several residential and supported living services across the North West.

In this role you will be supporting children that have Emotional Behavioural Disorder (EBD) providing them with day to day support. You will work as part of a team to provide this support, so we are looking for someone with a team player attitude. You will be providing a safe and nurturing environment for the young people and will support and encourage the young people to take part in activities and hobbies. An integral part of this role will be to take the children to school, social events and appointments so you will need to have a Full UK Driving License and a car available.

You will need to have experience working within children's residential, learning disabilities or mental health in a health care setting. It would be an advantage if you have supported people with challenging behaviours or in a therapeutic setting. It would be extremely beneficial if you have a Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent, and if you do not have this you will need to be willing to work towards it.

You will need to be flexible and able to undertake shift work which include weekends and sleep in shifts. You will be working on a two-week rolling rota. The first week will include 5 shifts (14 hours plus sleep ins) and the second will include 2 shifts (14 hours plus sleep ins).

You will be paid a competitive £23,294 - £24,237 (This will be depending on experience and includes 7 sleep in a two-week period). Your hourly rate is £8.25 - £8.90 per hour depending on experience. You will be paid £34 for each additional sleep in.
