**Residential Support Worker**
**Long term temporary ongoing work**
**£8.50 - £9.50 per hour**
**Short respite care for children with learning disabilities and physical disabilities**
I am working with a Service in that supports young people from the ages of 10 to 18. They are part of a reputable care organisation. They support up to 6 children at any one time, in an ideal location that provides access to the community and various activities for the young people to participate in.
Primarily you will be supporting the permanent members of staff there. This will include general housekeeping like cooking and cleaning but will also involve being attentive to the young people, encouraging them to get involved in the household activities. You will also encourage them to engage in activities, taking them out but sometimes your role may include just being with them while they watch TV. The young people at this home have a variety of needs ranging from challenging behaviour, to learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
I am looking for someone who is caring and empathetic in nature. Someone who understands how to deal with challenging behaviour, Learning Disabilities and working with young people that are high risk.
You will need to have a minimum of one years professional experience in care as well as professional experience working with children and young people. You will also need to have an up to date DBS on the online update service.
If you don`t have a DBS on the online update then I can help with this.
As this is ongoing temporary work, the more availability you can give me, the more work I can get you.
£8.00-£9.50 per hours plus benefits
