Residential Support Worker
Setting: Therapeutic Children's Services
Location: Newark & Nottingham
Hours: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Patterns: Required to work a varied shift pattern, including sleep ins & weekends on a rota
Salary: £25,500 - £26,500 plus £45 sleep-in allowance

Salary and Benefits

Overview of the Role
I am currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children`s Residential Support Worker to join our team in providing high-quality care for children in our residential home. As a Children`s Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting children who have experienced trauma and challenging life situations. You will provide therapeutic care and support for children aged between 5-18 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing emotional and practical support to children in the home
  • Always Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children
  • Promoting positive behaviour and routines for children in the home
  • Supporting children in their education and development
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals
  • Maintaining accurate records of the care provided to the children
  • Participating in team meetings and training opportunities


Required Skills, Experience, & Knowledge

  • Experience working with children in a residential or similar setting
  • A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care or Children`s Services (Level 3 or above)
  • Flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including sleep ins and weekends on a rota basis
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle - ESSENTIAL
  • A compassionate and caring approach to working with children
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development and safeguarding procedures


Interview Process
These stages have been put in place to help benefit and streamline the process of recruitment.
