Job Description
Therapeutic Residential Support Worker
Gloucester
Permanent
Job Purpose:
To provide the highest standard of support to children with a range of social, emotional and mental Health needs, supporting them in achieving positive and meaningful outcomes in line with their placement plans/ individual goals and health plans.
To ensure the continuity of approach at all times.
Main Duties and Summary of Responsibilities:
- Support children in achieving positive and meaningful outcomes in line with person-centered plans.
- Contribute to the process of implementing and evaluating individual support plans, risk assessments etc.
- To lead shifts on an occasional basis ensuring that all duties and expectations are carried out on that shift and being accountable for this.
- To arrange and participate in activities such as swimming, horse riding, walks etc.
- Support the maintenance of sound administrative practice of the service by maintaining full and comprehensible records for all children.
- Ensure professional, empathic and informative relationships with families, carer`s, advocates, professionals and other parts of our clients company are maintained.
- Participate in debriefs, team meeting, and house meeting and ensuring detailed minutes are taken and typed up.
- Promote and ensure the well-being of children and staff including the safe administration, monitoring and recording of medication.
- Administer/dispense medication
- Keep abreast of legislative changes.
- Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.
- Complete care records for all children in line with Ofsted requirements and best practice.
- Fulfil key working duties i.e. complete all records required for their key child including reports for monthly progress reports as required and attend these.
- Take responsibility for specific tasks delegated by the manager, e.g. driving, medication, first aid etc.
- Actively promote our client and all its policies, including `Equal Opportunities`.
- Provide a professional role model for all staff and children demonstrating best practice.
- Adhere to Health and Safety and ensure adequate and up to date risk assessments are in place and reviewed on a regular basis.
