Job Description

CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE RESIDENTIAL SUPPORTWORKERS NEEDED!

This organisation provides semi-independent services that are designed to provide emotional and practical support to young vulnerable people and teach the required skills to enable them to move into normal housing within the community. They are able to offer residential accommodation that promotes independent living with the safety net of support where needed. They are able to assist young people with the following:Staying Healthy, Staying Safe, Enjoying And Achieving, Making A Positive Contribution, Achieving Economic Well-being.

You must be able to assist young people with the following:

Assistance in applying for State benefits
Developing confidence, independence and life skills
Help with budgeting
Social skills
Registering with GP, dentist etc and making appointments
Help with education, training course and finding work
Provide one to one key worker sessions
Emotional support and counselling
Finding a home within the mainstream community (when ready)
Assessment of the young peoples needs
Personal skills
Domestic and practical skills
Young people are assessed for nutritional deficiencies
Support young people to be safe in their relationships with family and friends

To register with BS Social Care you will need a minimum of 2 years` experience working with Children and be able to supply 5 years referencing.Minimum Qualification Required is an NVQ Level 3 Children & Young People An enhanced DBS will need to be completed which is a cost of £50 or if you have one on the update service then this can be accepted.
