Job Description

Are you a Support Worker currently seeking a new and exciting role? Do you have experience working with young people? If you are then please read on...

Based on the requirements of the service our client is looking for staff on a temp adhoc basis to cover short falls in their rota however they are also looking to recruit for a temp to perm position offering a minimum of 30 hours a week. Following your 12 week successful probation period you will be then employed directly by our client.

Based in various locations in Leeds you will be supporting young adults within a residential setting, age groups range from 15 - 17 year old. You will be helping young people transition into adult life after care and supporting them with everyday life.

You will be required to provide transport and conduct welcome inductions for service users, providing basic assessments to ensure all needs are met and regular reports. Some service users may have mental health issues and autism, so the ability to de-escalate situations and provide good interaction is essential.

Please note that this is a LONE WORKING position, shift requirements tend to operate between 10am - 10am including a sleep.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Due to the nature of the role, all suitable candidates must have recent experience of working with young people or alternatively 6 months experience and an NVQ in Health & Social care.
  • Essential you can provide 5 years worth of references, with any gaps accountable for
  • You must be a car driver as you may be required to work at any 3 of the services based in Leeds
  • You MUST also hold a DBS on the update service

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE

The hourly rate of pay is a generous £8.84 per hour & a sleep rate of £62.00

Full induction programme for this temp to perm role including E- Learning & shadow shifts with the opportunity to complete an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care for Children & Young People (Cost of this course will be met by the employer)
