Job Description

Are you a Children's Residential Support Worker with experience managing children who presents challenging behaviours,

Do you have experience with children and young people in therapeutic residential care?

Do you have experience with children and young people in a therapeutic outreach setting?

If so, read on!

We are recruiting for multiple roles in the Surrey area.

Our client is a local charity established 3 years ago and are expanding their service delivery within the sector.

Main Purpose of Job

To undertake direct work with young people living in 24-hour unit shared accommodation which aims to enable them to gain the confidence and skills to live independently as well as supporting them practically and emotionally in their day-to-day lives.

If you have previous experience as a children's therapeutic practitioner, children and young people support worker, residential support worker or outreach worker please get in touch!

You will need to have a minimum of 1 years' experience working within children residential settings, and Level 3 Diploma in the children and young people workforce or Level 3 Diploma in health & social care, or an equivalent qualification. Applicants that do not have a level 3 will be considered and required to work towards this qualification and provided with training & support.

Due to the location of the unit it would be ideal if you are a car driver for commuting

The service has young people with trauma related complex needs such as:

" Self-harming

" Suicidal tendencies

" Substance misuse/addiction

" Anxiety/panic attacks

" ADHD/ Hyperactive

" Threatening/aggressive behaviour

" Gang related activities

" Cleanliness/self-care

" Missing episodes

" Depression/low moods/hearing voices

" Police interaction etc

The roles are full time minimum of 40 hours per week in 12 hour shifts. These include alternative shift patterns such as days, waking nights and weekends
