Residential Support Worker (MH)

BS Social Care are working in partnership with a national specialist mental health recovery provider in the search for an experienced support worker in a residential service in Newcastle.
The residential service provides a therapeutic environment for service users who have had extensive and acute contact with statutory mental health services. They provide a safe and secure environment to promote independent living with a view to success move on to the community with wraparound care.
As a successful candidate, you will have a relevant level 3 qualification in health and social care or the equivalent such as a psychology degree. You will ideally have experience in mental health recovery services. You will have an awareness of a therapeutic community and recovery. A knowledge of signposting to relevant services is vital. A flexible and professionally empathetic manner is vital.
This is a full time, permanent position where sleep-ins are a must as part of the successful candidates working week. This would allow you to fulfil the required hours in fewer days than a 9-5 role and therefore give you more free days in your working week, which is seen as a benefit to other employees in the service.
As a large care provider, personal development and progression is encouraged and training is constant, both in-house and external.
