Job Description

All staff employed as a Senior Care Assistant will assume the same duties as a Care Assistant, but will have additional responsibilities. You will be a senior member of a team of Home Care Assistants, providing help and support to older and disabled people in their own homes as well as supervising and training other Home Care Assistants in the field.

In the absence of Senior Managers Senior Care Assistants will lead the shift, in so doing they will assume full responsibilities for all matters arising.
Senior Care Assistants must avail themselves of supervision and training recommended by Senior Managers.
You will:
" Have a genuine desire to help our Customers
" Have good spoken and written English
" Be able to manage your time effectively
" Be willing to work on a flexible shift pattern, including evenings and weekends
" Take part in weekly "on-call" duties assuming responsibilities for covering any absences or sickness
" Be willing to attend all training and staff meetings
" Performing Care visits and Reviews
" Implementing new packages including Care Needs Assessments, Risk Assessments and Care Planning
" Providing training to staff in the field
" Provide support to Senior Management with Safeguarding issues
" Carry out Quality visits and telephone checks to ensure our high standard of service
" Taking part in recruitment and retention of the staff team.
" Lead by example and offer support and guidance to Care Workers, completing staff supervisions and appraisals
" Assess Care Workers' competence in the administration of medication in accordance with CQC guidelines.
" Adherence to Health & safety and hazard reporting
" Other duties as required.
