Job Description

We have exciting new permanent opportunities for Female Senior Practitioners to work across accommodation services for women and children across Lancashire.

We are delighted to be working in partnership with an award-winning organisation who have been delivering domestic abuse services across the North West for over 45 years. They deliver refuge provision for women and children, male safe house accommodation specialist refuges for those with complex needs.

As a Senior Practitioner you will provide expert knowledge and mentoring to the Refuge teams delivering high quality support to adults and child survivors of domestic abuse. You will be responsive to the needs of the service, leading a team across all the refuges responsible for managing all risk and out of hours emergency cover. This role forms part of the organisation's management teams across refuge provisions supporting the Deputy and Service managers to deliver excellent services. A key function of this role is to deliver responsive advice and support to staff working out of hours to ensure that incidents regarding risk management and safeguarding are effectively managed and staff are supported. This may mean travelling across different locations and be flexible to do that.
Other key duties will be to assess new referrals in a fair, clear and transparent way that uses an inclusive approach, ensure that the welfare and health & wellbeing of residents and children are prioritised, deliver high quality support, empower residents across the spectrum of needs, advocating on their behalf, facilitate interactions with other agencies and work in partnership with external and statutory agencies.
What you need to be successful in this role:
Experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to women and children, clear knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse, experience of using trauma informed approaches to support victims and survivors in recognising the features, experience of safety planning with clients in a person centred approach. Experience of multi agency and partnership working is also key. Car drivers will be essential with access to your own vehicle.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, passionate to make a difference and a flexible approach to working.
This is role is based on an average of 25 hours per week over a rota basis with a pro rata salary of £24, 813 per annum. Benefits include 25 holidays + 8 bank holidays, Company Pension scheme and company reward scheme.
Location: one vacancy based in Preston and one based in Burnley ( Both roles will need to be flexible with the needs to travel across all Lancashire provisions where needed. )
