Job Description

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Senior Residential Support Worker with a background with working with Children and Young People.


The client is looking for passionate, energetic and aspirational individuals to work within out teams.
The Children's Home situated in Ibstock, Leicestershire are seeking a permanent Full-Time Senior Residential Support Worker. This is a medium, emergency, same day and planned placement for up to 3 residents aged up to 18 providing one-to-one care.
As a Senior Support Worker at our children's home in the Ibstock area you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with our young people, supporting them to achieve their potential and explore new opportunities and interests. Participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital.
Duties
As a Senior Support Worker, you'll be doing the following:
" Supporting the management to run a successful staff team and all day to day operations of the home
" To assist the management team with the supervisions of junior staff
" Inducting new staff into the homes procedure and culture
" Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the young people's physical, behavioral and emotional needs.
" Be the young person's champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential
" Assist senior staff with the writing and maintaining of placement and risk management plans
" Support young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behavior.
" You will be assigned a key child and play a pivotal role in their day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies
" Support and encourage educational engagement and attainment including homework and behavioural support within the education setting
Level 3 in Children and Young People qualification is essential for this role.
Successful applicants will have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.
Due to the location of the Home near Ibstock, Leicestershire, you would need to be a driver and have your own car.
Hours
They use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. As a Support Worker, in our Home you can you should be happy to work a shift rota system that includes working some weekends and bank holidays.
