Senior Support worker
Salary: £24,472
Location: Chesterfield
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours - 4pm-1am

A new and exciting Senior Mental Health Support Worker opportunity has become available within a drop in service, which offers out of hours support, as an alternative for people with (or developing) mental health needs. The aim of this service is to act as an alternative to hospitalisation or emergency department visits. If this sounds like a role you could get your teeth into, I want to hear from YOU today!

Salary and Benefits

Overview of the Role

Your new service provides a community wellbeing resource that people can access during a mental health crisis, preventing escalation of mental health problems and supporting people to develop the necessary skills to cope with a future crisis. You will provide a safe, supportive and friendly environment helping individuals in their recovery through promotion of self? Empowerment and independence.

The successful applicant will have experience of working in a supportive, people focused environment, with a thorough understanding of mental health needs and excellent communication skills. You will need to be calm when dealing with challenging situations, kind, approachable and solution focussed to fully support people experiencing a tough time.

You will assist the Service Manager with the day to day running of the service and deputise for the manager in their absence.

Deal with cases of complex needs, drug and alcohol abuse & mental health
Work alongside a range of other companies in order to support individuals
Making quick on the spot decisions in order to help someone or refer them to external agencies

Interview Process

2nd Stage - Formal Interview
In this stage, you will go have a formal interview with the hiring manager.
