Job Description

* Children and Young People Senior Support Worker **
** Mildenhall, Suffolk**
** Permanent and full time **
** Up to £25,000 (including sleep in allowance) **
** 40hrs per week on a shift pattern **

BS Social Care are working with a 5 bedded, mixed sex children and young person's residential home age 8 years and above with emotional, behavioural difficulties and other complex needs associated. Situated between Mildenhall and Lakenheath, in the Forest Health District which boarders onto Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

About the employer; this organisation is a large, established company who are specialists in the children`s sector. Offering residential and educational services for children that require mental health assessment and intervention. Their homes offers therapy and education on site and the overall focus of the home is to achieve positive outcomes for young people, through multi agency working, personalised care planning and creating positive attachments. Support for young people with both challenging social backgrounds as well as mental health diagnosis requiring ongoing support.

About the job; you will support the management to run a successful staff team and all day to day operations of the home including supervisions of junior staff, writing and maintaining of placement and risk management plans, review reports etc. Your role will include inducting new staff into the homes procedure and culture. You will ensure the highest standards of care in relation to the young people's physical, behavioural and emotional needs. You will support the young people in daily activities including; family contacts, shopping, outdoor and indoor activities, and community youth groups, promoting independence and social behaviour and support and encourage educational engagement. You will be assigned a key child and play a pivotal role in their day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies.

About the ideal candidate; it is essential that you have a driving licence with access with access to your own car, we are also looking for candidates with emotional, behavioural difficulties and complex needs experience, a relevant qualification including; Children, Young People & Families Practitioner Level 4 (previously Diploma Level 3) qualification and experience as a Senior or Team Leader.

This full time and permanent role are offering £9.65 - £11.88 (£19,573.14 - £22,911) & up to £2,100 sleep-in allowance. You will be offered a pattern of; 40hours per week, 15-hour shifts, starting at 0800 with a sleep in attached, finishing at 0830 the following morning. Over the rota period you work 11 shifts having 17 days off.
