Greater Manchester

£18,500 - £22,600

Full Time - 40 hours per week

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced children`s residential support worker to join an expanding team as a senior therapeutic parent. My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who has prior and proven experience in working with children who have challenging behaviour or have experienced trauma.

The homes look after children aged 4-12 who have experienced trauma. As a therapeutic parent you will be responsible for being a positive impact and role model to the children and the staff alike. You will be working closely and assisting the deputy manager in the day to day running of the home, doing domestic duties, paperwork, record keeping and liaising with clinical teams and educational teams to provide a tailored and individual psychological recovery programme for each child.

As a senior therapeutic you will be the person that the children look up to and will be helping to fulfil their emotional, social and educational needs that could be in regard to listening to them to helping with their homework or encouraging participation in onsite or mainstream education system. You will also be a key worker for a specific child and sit in on meetings and do progress plans for that child.
This is a challenging and rewarding job whereby the candidate must be resilient, caring, compassionate and have a nurturing personality. We are looking for people who can problem solve and are IT literate and are willing to go the extra mile!

In rewards for your hard work and dedication you will receive a generous salary, pension scheme, excellent progression opportunities, free-parking and overtime opportunities.

For this role it is essential that you have a level 3 in children`s and young people`s workforce and be a driver. You must also have experience in working in a children`s residential setting and have some form of team leading experience. On-call working is part of this role, so you must be able to commit to that and working on a 24/7 shift pattern working some long days and nights. Please only apply if you meet all the essential criteria.
