Day Support Workers WANTED!

Would be useful if you have all statutory and mandatory training, Diploma Level 2 or 3. The role of the Support Worker is one of extreme importance as you have the initial responsibility of the Service Users.
You will be promoting the rights and interests of all service users whilst protecting them as far as is possible from danger or harm.
It is the duty of all staff to safely promote the independence of service users as much as possible, and to ensure that the home environment is pleasant and safe. All staff have the responsibility for maintaining clear and accurate records daily and for implementing everyone's comprehensive care programmes. Under the guidance of the Manager, Senior Care staff, Night Workers have the responsibility to carry out the routine of the home and support each service user.
To undertake the home's induction programme upon commencement of employment and to ensure your own understanding of the information provided.
To be familiar with the needs and requirements of each service user and to provide appropriate care based on their Service User plan of care and personal risk assessments.
To assist service users with personal care tasks such as bathing and toilinet where this is required.
To maintain clear and accurate records as required by procedures established for your work.
To assist service users to manage their behaviours as far as possible and to use approved intervention strategies when required. (Intervention strategies may only be used by those staff trained to do so).
To comply with the homes policies on Health and Safety and to ensure that any potential hazards within the home are reported to the appropriate person and rectified as soon as possible.
To undertake all relevant training to maintain and improve knowledge and skills in the interest of the service user and the home.
To support service users in accessing facilities safely both within and outside of the home.
To attend regular supervisory and staff meetings with the Manager and to take responsibility for the development of own skills.
To be familiar with the homes Whistle Blowing policy and to use it in the event of any form of abuse, neglect or harassment occurring to any service user or staff member within the home.
To respect the confidentiality of service users and work colleagues.
To safely use equipment within the home (wheelchairs, hoists or bath seats) subject to training being given in their correct use.
To carry out any reasonable requests by the Manager or Senior as deemed fit within your job role and employment.
Main areas of role
To ensure that regular checks are carried out around the home to include physical checks on service users and / or those with epilepsy. It is your responsibility to ensure that you know where documents are stored i.e. seizure forms and to read the notes or plans of the individual as their safety is your responsibility.
Checks are to be carried out around the building paying special attention to fire prevention. Ensure you are aware of the fire procedure and assembly points, also where the evacuation point is.
There maybe a few service users who need assistance with toileting through the night and you need to be aware of these issues through their plans of care.
There may be a need to assist with getting ready for bed or waking in the morning, again you must be familiar with individual's plans of care in these areas.
