Job Description

Residential Support Worker
Huddersfield
Temporary - Full/Part-time
Days/Nights
Pay rate: £10- 12 per hour

Do you have experience in working with the homeless?
Do you have experience in working with challenging behaviour?

Supported living accommodation for the homeless for both male and female. 22 bedded accommodations provided from 20 years upwards. With a goal of supporting the residents to real life transformation in their lives. Support with ongoing issues the residents have due to significantly traumatic events such as substance misuse, homelessness, learning difficulties and mental health issues.

Assist with delivering a high quality of support which promotes client choice and control. Support their needs, enable them to make positive life choices and help them to lead a better lifestyle. Complete day to day activities including admin and reception duties to support the running of the accommodation.
" Increase sense of purpose by improving self-esteem, self-worth and resilience,
" Support and accompany clients to attend essential appointments eg health, debt, etc
" Support and advise clients to access information on health, welfare, benefits, etc
" Actively engage with the residents
" Liaise with external agencies
" Help manage any incidents or challenging behaviours
" Develop Support Plans and Risk Management Plans and keep accurate records


Requirements:-
" Level 2 NVQ in Social Care or experience in working in this related field,
" Experience in working with vulnerable clients,
" A great communicator, building trust and professional relationships,
" Be passionate about making a difference,
" Empower people to develop their skills, strengths and talents,
" Be comfortable dealing with difficult or complex situations

Full Induction Training will be provided however some experience of working in a similar setting is essential as the circumstances of the people being supported will be complex. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
