BS Social Care are currently recruiting for Support Workers to work ad-hoc hours within a supported living environment for a client with severe autism.
You would be working 2:1 at all times which will allow you to build a strong relationship with the client, helping you to understand their preferences so you can provide a high level of care tailored to their specific needs.
The client can express very challenging behaviour both verbally and physically, for this reason experience in handling this type of behaviour in a safe, effective and respectful way is essential for this role. The client has their own routine which they like to stick too which means you will face various challenges on a daily basis. The client will need support with activities and promoting independence. Staff duties will also include administering medication, preparing food and cleaning duties.
The shifts are 1000-2300 plus sleep in with a 0700-1000 handover the next day. The client would need staff consistency so the full shift will be required at all times.
